The thing that makes me squeal with delight over all this stuff about Foley, is his and for that matter the GOP's inability to say no to the christian coalition and the moron voter finally becomes their undoing just in time for autumn's vote. To actually be moral in the face of the morons who vote is something the Republicans forgot about way back when Gerald Ford and his evil curia took over the GOP and began their addiction with christan votes. It's taken awhile but it looks good on them. I found this picture on a wikipedia article about the SF earthquake of 1907. It was taken but George R Lawrence using a camera mounted on a kite. Anyways check it out. If you can zoom in the detail is amazing. The amount of destruction on the right side (northwest?) is unbelievable.

I defy anybody to be able to finish a can of Pineapple Crush. I'm a sucker for brands and logos. It's pathetic I know but I have to do it. If I haven't tried it I gotta.... So I had my friend bring some cans of it back from Newfoundland as apparently it's only made in select markets. Wow...I was only able to take two gulps before throwing the can away. It's horrible. Unbelievably sweet and nasty! The only person whose been able to finish a can so far is my " 15 year old sister , which isn't surprising really, since she eats the oddest things..... like white rice and ketchup.

If you can't find any Pineapple Crush. Don' follow this recipe instead I would suggest a mouthfull of unrefined sugar, some club soda and a can of Pineapple syrup is all you need.

So I'm back up and running after a near life catastrophe this weekend. I was setting up a new computer and in my haste managed to format not one but two different disks. The thing is these weren't just two plain old unimportant disks, instead these were the hard drives where I keep all of my work/projects. All of my screenplays, novels, plays, art....... Everything I've been working on since I my late teens.... Piles of unfinshed projects proving my genius to the world! Oddly enough I was pretty placid about the whole thing. I knew that theoretically all data written on a disk can be recovered provided it hasn't been physically destroyed or overwritten. So with the help of TestDisk I was able to rebuild the boot-sector and the File table. And unbelievably it worked!!! And luckily I was saved from jumping off a building.

So thankfully with that behind me it's on with the fanfic doc.

And yet 400 years after cleveing us apart, it's almost as if the Scientic Revolution and Enlightenment has returned us back where we were at the start of the modern age.

I can’t recommend this book enough. It’s short and fast but packed full of morsels. After reading it I think I’d like to read up on the Patent Medicine craze of the 19th century. If anybody knows of any good books on that theme please let me know

In Iraq, we've way past the half-million mark, probably the million mark, if you count the 1990s sanctions. Are the American people as blind and deaf as they seem? Don't we see ourselves walking through the gates of hell and can't we hear the doors clanging shut on our country?

Who am I to say all this, you might ask. Fair enough, I reply. So let me tell you a story about monstrous crimes and tragedies from my generation about to be repeated in Iraq in front of the whole world. First, understand that a single soldier can't be expected to grasp the total criminality of war because his whole universe is a tiny place right in front of his nose. So he can stay alive. If he knew everything that was going on, he would be heartbroken, and if he also knew why, he would go insane.

The narrowness of his vision is exactly how even the best and most humane soldier unwillingly becomes a monster, and the people who create war know this. Out of grief and rage, with the stench of his buddy's shredded flesh in his nostrils, the soldier stops asking questions and then begins making up his own rules with a rifle. He has touched the heart of darkness and there's no going back ever. Embracing the whore called war destroys morality, and doing all this in a dishonorable cause compounds the damage.

Recently I was reading a great book about the CIA and their traffik-ing illegal drugs inorder to fund covert operations and undertakings can't get congress to fund. Anyways there was an interesting chapter in the book about the many CIA plants in the Washington Post and NY Times. Those are as we all know the two most important and influential agitprop organs in the American system. At least till FoxNews' GOP approved pablum became so insipid. It would appear Jackson Diehl is one such plant with the Washington Post Op-Ed page who has it out for the Chavistas

I was thinking about this yesterday and in an odd way is Hugo Chavez's move to peg oil at $50 not beneficial to the Americans? If at the $50 mark Venezuela and Canada become the largest oil reserves states in the world, it saves plenty of money and hassle in not having to subjugate and maintain occupation forces throughout the middle east constantly. It would mean though that China would begin to encroach more and more into what the US sees as it's hemisphere; and being Americans they will choose see it that way. The Chinese just signed a huge deal with Brazil's Petrobas didn't they?
